Here We Go Again!

(note the acres of iceplant for landing!)
The first one was a blast. This time we're hoping for an even bigger and better one. Set in a beautiful, secluded spot along the San Francisco coastline, this Fest will feature a swap meet, a raffle, and an array of gorgeous JARTs to ogle. Flying is pure fun-fly, FWYB (Fling What You Bring) and if the wind is up there'll be plenty of flying for all. There is a spot for light DS within walking distance of the main flying area, and if we get big air, we may even be able to accommodate heavy planes for some formation halfpipe action.

We generally get decent conditions this time of year, but if the wind doesn't cooperate there will be room for electrics and even DLG. The LZ is all iceplant and should pose no serious challenge to good pilots. The only thing we need to watch out for are the people riding horses through the area occasionally.

This will be a good family event, owing to the many lovely trails in the area, the wide-open vistas of the Pacific Ocean, and the beach below. There is a bit of a hike down to the actual site, but it's easily negotiated by people of almost any age.

WHEN:
Saturday, the 26th of April.

Pilots meeting at noon. Arrive early to set up your swap meet area.

WHERE:
Right here in sunny San Francisco, California.

Same place, at the end of John Daly Blvd, though we will actually move it down the hill this time for privacy and space.

Here's a map showing San Francisco, SFO airport and the flying site.

We'd like to encourage people to park along the road near the stables. Here are some Google streetview maps to show how to get there:
Turn right from John Daly Blvd onto Skyline.

Turn left onto Olympic Way, and park at the end, in the cul de sac.

WHAT:
FWYB (Fling What You Bring)
It'll be a JARTFest and therefore decidedly JART-centric, but flying will be open to all and sundry.

Swap Meet
We'll have a swap meet so everyone should bring stuff to swap/sell and/or money to buy stuff. Come early to set up your area if you're selling.

Raffle
My wife has agreed to run a raffle: top prize will be a JART kit with glass fuse, carbon bagged wings, carbon bagged stab, and a printed plan sheet. I'll work on getting some more raffle prizes for us.

Raffle tickets:
$10 = 1 ticket
$25 = 5 tickets
You need to either attend the event or have a proxy attend the event to pay for your tickets. My wife doesn't want to deal with any online stuff (what can I say).

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
JART Kits?

WHO:
All y'all!!

Sound like fun!?
